THE JUNIOR THEATRE FESTIVAL

The Junior Theater Festival (JTF) is a weekend dedicated to celebrating young people and musical theater. Produced by iTheaterics and Theater of the Stars, JTF brings students, teachers, and Broadway Professionals together under one roof to celebrate outstanding student musical theater productions. Events include adjudication, workshops for students, professional development for directors, Broadway Celebrities, a New Works Showcase, and Awards Ceremony. The Festival has become a must attend musical theater event and has even served as the launch for Disney's High School Musical and NBC's "Smash"! JTF is scheduled for January 17-19, 2025

Students who are selected to participate in the program will experience all of the above plus particpate in a 15 minute performance before Broadway Professionals for adjudication. Lopez Studios has been honored to be JTF National Award Winners for the past 8 years of participation.

ADMITTANCE INTO THE PROGRAM

We are so excited for you to audition for The LCP Festival Division! Please remember when preparing that while we are auditioning with characters in mind, we are looking for members who show a desire and willingness to grow in the program. Our decisions will be made based on student’s ability to show talent, work ethic and passion for MUSICAL THEATRE. No prior experience is required. Notifications of entry into the program will be sent out within a week following auditions. Please note that roles for our 15 minute section of the show WILL NOT be allocated until the Kick-Off of the program. As an educational program we prioritize the growth and development of our members and WILL NOT allocate roles until after we have selected the members.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

• Accepting students ages 10-18
• Auditions are scheduled for Sunday, September 15, 2024 (1:30PM-4PM)
• Please prepare ONE MINUTE of a Music Theater song. Songs may be sung with a track or acapella. We will have a bluetooth speaker availble in order to connect mobile devices to play music tracks. A piano will not be available. 
• Auditions will include a vocal, acting, and movement portion. Please be aware that you must stay for the entire group audition in order to be considered for accpetance into the program. 
• Please be prepared to bring a recent Head Shot as well as a recent resume.

BREAK A LEG!

We will be bringing our 2024 MAIN STAGE SHOW: ALADDIN JR. TO THE 2025 JUNIOR THEATRE FESTIVAL.

Our group will perform a 15 minute section of the show before BROADWAY PROFESSIONALS for adjudication.

Students who have participated in this past season's MAIN STAGE (SPRING 2024) will automatically be admitted into the FESTIVAL DIVISION but will be required to audition for role placement. 

These members will also receive a 15% Discount off Tuition Fees.

Festival Division Rehearsals are scheduled late September - mid January as follows:

Vocal Rehearsals

Select Wednesdays  7:00PM-8:30PM

Acting, Choreography & Blocking Rehearsals

Select Sundays  2:00PM - 6:00PM
